Apostolic Deliverance Church Of Christ #5

The Great Commission

Matthew 28:19“Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost:”

King James Version (KJV)

The Lord Jesus Christ gave this tot the eleven Apostles so they could fulfill it as he instructed.  It isn't an example of believers being actually baptized. Those examples of the Apostles fulfilling the commission can be found in
Acts 2:38, 8:16, 10:47-48, 19:4-5 and 22:16

There is confusion whether or not it is valid using the words Father, Son, and Holy Ghost as the formula for baptism.  It has also become the basis for the Trinity Doctrine.

No where else is the formula of Father, Son, and Holy Ghost used.  The traditional wording of Matthew 28:19 has been adopted from pieces of the actual wording of Jesus because they were either lost or destroyed. Through research by many scholars of the antient manuscripts there remains no absolute solid foundation to support the triune name baptism
